This trip will take place in the northernmost town in lapland. Being in one place long enough to make meaningful connections and conversations, absorbing and understanding our own paths. Slow travel is a time for personal awareness, turning into your own feelings, feeling at peace and setting your own goals.
On this Journey, you will have the opportunity to experience the arctic in the most authentic way in northern Finland, in the wilderness. You will participate in some of the most iconic activities in Lapland and witness the pure magical energy it posses. In the evenings, as we gather around the fireplace, we will learn more about the Northern Light phenomena and what makes it so special. With you throughout your journey, you will have a Certified TJD Arctic Guide.
Your journey is about first in a lifetime experiences, especially during the polar nights. This is for those who appreciate learning new cultures, new experiences and familiarizing themselves with the arctic, surrounded by nature. It is for those who want to try something completely unique outside their comfort zone and trying out new culinary experiences.
Your accommodations are not large resorts, but small boutique family owned lodges built by the family in the most comfortable way.

TJD’s Arctic Guides are certified by Lapland University of Applied Science, a renowned institution in the field of Arctic studies. This certification demonstrates that they have received extensive training and education in all aspects of Arctic travel, including wilderness survival, first aid, and environmental protection. In addition, our guides have gone through many Wilderness Medical Associates with medical rescue certifications.
In addition, TJD guides have a wealth of practical experience in designing and leading tours in the Arctic, and are knowledgeable about the region’s flora, fauna, and cultural history. As certified guides, they are committed to providing their clients with a safe and enjoyable Arctic experience. TJD guides regularly review and update their safety procedures to ensure that they are prepared for any situation that may arise during an expedition.

Our expert arctic guides are professionals who have specialized knowledge and experience of the arctic region. They are typically experienced travelers, outdoor enthusiasts, and educators who have spent significant time in the arctic and have gained a deep understanding of its climate, wildlife, and culture.
Expert arctic guides are often certified by professional organizations, such as the
International Association of Arctic Tour Operators (IAATO), and have completed rigorous training programs in safety, survival, and environmental stewardship. They are skilled in planning and leading arctic expeditions, and can provide valuable insights and guidance to travelers who want to explore this unique and challenging environment. The combination of education, experience, and training is what makes an arctic guide an expert in their field.
Our terms and conditions reflect the same ones used by our partners on ground, the lodges, cabins and activity providers that we work with.We echo the same policies laid out by them and the local government. Everything will clearly be stated in your invoice before confirming.
As we are a small family run business, we only work with the best and reliable partners on ground in regards to animal welfare and sustainability. This of course means that our partners charge a premium fee to keep their business sustainable. We ensure that all animals that we visit are in the best excellent care . We do not work with farms or kennels we know have mistreated any animals..
Our small group journeys are adults only, 21+ However, if you are traveling with children, We design a private journey to best fit the capabilities and preferences of your children. You will then have the option to choose your dates of travel and, whether you would like to have your journey self-guided or a fully guided journey.
We keep our group size between 6-8 guests. We believe in deep meaningful experiences and conversations, in order to give everyone time, keeping it personal and cozy. We have a variety of solo travelers and couples, who’s intention is to seek new friendships, build deeper connections and let go of the stress. Keeping our group size small allows everyone to have their space, grow, and take in the beauty of what lapland nature has to offer.
